Privacy Policy

Last Updated: October 2, 2026

Localhost Server ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how our application operates and handles user information when you download and use the Localhost Server Android application.

1. Information Collection and Storage

Localhost Server does NOT collect, store, transmit, or share any personal data or usage analytics to remote servers or third parties. All processing occurs strictly on your local Android device.

2. App Permissions and Their Use

To provide local HTTP server functionality, our app requests the following standard Android permissions:

  • Storage Access (Storage Access Framework / SAF): Used solely to allow you to select a folder on your device to serve HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, or Java files. The app only accesses files in the specific directory you grant permission to.
  • Internet & Network Access: Required to open local network sockets (e.g. 127.0.0.1 or local Wi-Fi IP address) to serve HTTP requests on your selected port.
  • Foreground Service & Notifications: Used to maintain an active HTTP server background process while the server is running, ensuring uninterrupted hosting and displaying status notifications.

3. Request Logs

The app includes an optional local HTTP request inspector that displays real-time logs (HTTP methods, status codes, latency, and client IP addresses). These logs are stored temporarily in your device's local memory and are never transmitted to any external server. You can clear or export these logs manually at any time.

4. Third-Party Services

Localhost Server does not integrate any third-party SDKs, tracking frameworks, advertising networks, or remote telemetry tools.

5. Children's Privacy

Our app does not collect personal information from anyone, including children under the age of 13.

6. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date.
