Privacy Policy

Application: Mouse Cursor Mover • Effective Date: September 9, 2026 • Version: 1.0.0

Core Privacy Guarantee: Mouse Cursor Mover is engineered with a privacy-first architecture. It functions completely locally on your device, does not require user registration or accounts, and does not collect, log, or share your personal information.

1. Overview & Purpose

This Privacy Policy explains how Mouse Cursor Mover (“we”, “our”, or “the app”) manages information when you use our mobile utility application. Mouse Cursor Mover uses physical display textures to stimulate compatible optical mouse sensors placed on your phone or tablet screen.

The application operates on an entirely client-side, offline basis for its core functionality. It does not establish network connections to your personal computer, does not require PC companion software, and does not require sensitive permissions.

2. Information We Do NOT Collect

To provide complete transparency, Mouse Cursor Mover does NOT access, collect, track, or store any of the following:

  • No Personal Identifiers: We do not collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, postal addresses, or user credentials.
  • No Account or Logins: The application does not require you to create an account, log in, or provide any profile information.
  • No Computer Access or Keystrokes: The app has zero visibility into your PC, laptop, software, keyboard input, files, or network traffic.
  • No Location Data: We do not request or track GPS, coarse location, or Wi-Fi triangulation data.
  • No Media, Files, or Camera: We do not access your device photos, videos, contacts, microphone, or camera.
  • No Sensitive Permissions: The app does not request or use Android Accessibility Services, Device Administrator rights, Root, or ADB.

3. On-Device Hardware Metrics & Device Protection

Mouse Cursor Mover includes an on-device safety engine (“Battery Guardian”) and display controls to protect your hardware while maintaining optimal optical mouse tracking:

  • Battery Guardian Telemetry: The app reads device battery level (%), charging status (charging vs. unplugged), and battery temperature (°C) via standard Android system broadcasts (Intent.ACTION_BATTERY_CHANGED). This allows the app to automatically pause motion sessions if your battery drops below your chosen safety threshold when unplugged, or if device temperature reaches your thermal safety limit.
  • Local Processing Only: All battery and temperature readings are evaluated strictly in real-time device memory (RAM) and are never stored, logged to disk, or transmitted over the internet to any server or third party.
  • Window Brightness: Session brightness preferences are applied exclusively to the application's active window using standard window attributes (WindowManager.LayoutParams.screenBrightness). The app does not request system write permissions (WRITE_SETTINGS) and never alters your overall device display settings.

4. User Preferences & Local Storage

The app stores non-personal configuration settings locally on your device using Android Jetpack DataStore. These preferences include:

  • Your chosen optical pattern (e.g., Fine Mesh, Checker, Noise)
  • Interval duration and animation speed
  • Feature toggles: OLED Black Saver (Spotlight Mode) and Humanized Randomization (Anti-Clockwork Jitter)
  • Safety thresholds: Low Battery Cutoff (%) and Thermal Cutoff (°C)
  • First-time onboarding completion status

This data never leaves your device. You can reset all preferences to default values at any time via Settings > Reset All Settings to Defaults, or by uninstalling the application.

5. Advertising & Third-Party Services

To support ongoing development and maintenance as a free utility, Mouse Cursor Mover integrates Google AdMob and the Google User Messaging Platform (UMP) SDK.

A. Google AdMob

Google AdMob may automatically collect and process certain non-personally identifiable technical diagnostic data, including:

  • Mobile advertising identifiers (such as Android Advertising ID / GAID), subject to your device settings
  • Device information (device model, operating system version, carrier)
  • IP address (used to determine general geographic region for ad delivery)
  • Ad performance and interaction metrics (impressions, clicks)

For more information on how Google collects and uses information for advertising, please visit: How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services and Google Privacy Policy.

B. Privacy & Consent Management (EEA / UK / California / US State Privacy)

In accordance with GDPR, UK GDPR, and applicable US privacy laws (including CCPA/CPRA), we provide a consent management interface powered by the Google User Messaging Platform:

  • Users in relevant jurisdictions are presented with a consent form upon first launch to choose between personalized ads or non-personalized ads.
  • You can review, modify, or revoke your consent preferences at any time directly within the app by going to Settings > Privacy & Ads > Ad Privacy Choices.

C. Active Session Ad Protection

To ensure safety, stability, and uninterrupted mouse tracking, Mouse Cursor Mover strictly prohibits advertisements during active motion sessions. Full-screen ads are never presented while mouse movement patterns are actively running or upon stopping a session.

6. Children’s Privacy (COPPA Compliance)

Mouse Cursor Mover is designed as a productivity and hardware utility for general audiences and is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or under 16 in the European Union). We do not knowingly collect or solicit personal information from children. If you believe that a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately so that we can take appropriate corrective measures.

7. Data Security

Because Mouse Cursor Mover does not maintain external user accounts, remote databases, or backend servers, your personal data is not subject to remote server breaches. Any third-party network communications (such as advertising requests through Google AdMob) utilize industry-standard Transport Layer Security (TLS/HTTPS) encryption.

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, regulatory obligations, or platform guidelines. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated “Effective Date”. We encourage you to review this page periodically to stay informed about our privacy practices.
