Summary: We respect your privacy. Photo Translator processes your image text locally on your device using Machine Learning OCR technology. We do not collect, store, or sell your personal photos or extracted text.

This Privacy Policy describes how Photo Translator: OCR & Text ("we", "our", or "the Application") handles your information when you use our Android mobile application. By installing and using the Application, you agree to the practices outlined in this policy.
2. Information Processing & OCR Technology
Our application functions primarily as a photo translator and text OCR translator. Here is how your data is handled:
- On-Device OCR & Image Recognition: Photos captured via your camera or selected from your gallery are processed on your mobile device using Google ML Kit. Images are analyzed solely to extract readable text for translation.
- No External Image Uploads: Your private photos, camera feeds, and original scanned documents are never uploaded, stored, or processed on our private remote servers.
- Extracted Text & Translations: Text extracted from images and translated content are stored locally on your device in a secure database to power your History and Phrasebook features. You can clear this data at any time.
3. Device Permissions Requested
To provide full functionality, the Application requests the following Android permissions:
- Camera Permission (
CAMERA): Required for the live camera OCR photo translator feature and to take pictures directly for instant translation. - Media / Storage Access: Required to allow you to choose existing images or documents from your photo library for batch translation.
- Internet Access (
INTERNET&ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE): Required to download official language translation models and to load Google AdMob advertisements. - Notifications (
POST_NOTIFICATIONS): Optional. Used to display quick-access translator shortcuts in your device status bar if enabled in Settings.
4. Advertising & Third-Party Services
The Application uses Google AdMob to serve non-intrusive advertisements. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies and advertising identifiers to serve ads based on prior app usage. AdMob may collect and process anonymous device analytics in accordance with their privacy policy:

You have full control over your stored data inside the application:
- Clear History: You can delete individual translation history records or tap "Clear All" in the History screen at any time.
- Remove Phrasebook Entries: Saved phrases can be deleted directly from your Phrasebook.
- Revoke Permissions: You may grant or revoke Camera and Storage permissions at any time through your Android device settings.
6. Children's Privacy
Our Application does not knowingly collect or solicit personal information from children under the age of 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately so we can remove it.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or regulatory requirements. Any updates will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
