Welcome to Refresh Rate Tester ("the App", "we", "us", or "our"). We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting any data processed through our hardware diagnostic utility.

1. Information Accessed & Local Diagnostics

The App queries official Android Display and System APIs (including Display, DisplayManager, WindowManager, and Choreographer) to calculate local display parameters in real time:

  • Physical display refresh rate (Hz) and current frame rendering rate (FPS).
  • Supported display modes, resolutions, physical dimensions, and mode IDs.
  • Display pixel density (DPI & category), screen rotation, HDR capabilities, and wide color gamut support.
  • Device manufacturer, model name, and Android OS version.

Local Processing: All diagnostic metrics are computed strictly on your device. None of this hardware diagnostic data is collected or transmitted to external servers by our application.

2. Local Test History

When you complete a stability test, test summaries (test date, duration, average/min/max refresh rates, rendered FPS, and jank frame counts) are saved locally on your device using SharedPreferences. You can view, delete individual entries, or clear all history at any time from within the App.

3. Advertising & Analytics (Google AdMob & UMP)

We use Google AdMob to display advertisements and Google User Messaging Platform (UMP) to manage privacy consent choices in compliance with GDPR, CCPA, and applicable state laws.

These third-party Google services may collect and process information such as:

  • Device advertising identifiers (Android Advertising ID).
  • IP address, network connection details, and app usage logs.

4. Data Sharing & User Controls

  • User-Initiated Sharing: The App provides a report sharing feature that allows you to export test summaries via Android's standard share sheet. Reports are shared only when you manually initiate the action.
  • No Sale of Data: We do not sell, rent, trade, or transfer personal or device information to third parties.

5. Children's Privacy

Our application is a general diagnostic tool and does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 years of age.

6. Security

We implement reasonable technical safeguards to protect data saved locally in app storage. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure.
